Celebrating NDEAM 2021

This month, businesses across the nation will exhibit their commitment to tackling disability employment issues in support of National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM).

Brought to you by the Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP), of the U.S. Department of Labor, NDEAM 2021’s theme is “America’s Recovery: Powered by Inclusion”.

According to ODEP, this year’s theme “reflects the importance of ensuring that people with disabilities have full access to employment and community involvement during the national recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic”.

At Chronically Capable, we’ve always been committed to creating equal opportunities for the chronic illness and disability community to find and retain meaningful work. That’s why we are proud to not only support NDEAM 2021, but to offer events and resources for both job seekers and employers to join us in our efforts to create a more inclusive workplace for all.

This is why we are so excited to announce that we have chosen Ablr 360, a full-service digital accessibility and inclusion agency, as our exclusive accessibility-services provider.

After meeting with the Ablr team and Ablr’s CEO, John Samuel (he/him), we saw that our organization's’ mission and goals were perfectly aligned. Ablr has since been able to ensure that our website and digital assets are not only fully compliant with the ADA but are elevated to the worldwide standards of WCAG.

Together, we hope to change the mindsets of organizations and individuals, eliminate the digital divide, and create pathways to employment for people with disabilities and chronic illness.
