Research Assistant/Senior Research Assistant, Macroeconomics Practice
Full-Time

We are seeking a highly motivated individual with deep intellectual curiosity and a passion for macroeconomics and public policy to join our team. This role is either an entry-level Research Assistant or Senior Research Assistant, depending on qualifications and experience.

 

As a member of Keybridge’s Macroeconomics Practice, you will be responsible for collaborating with junior and senior staff members to process and analyze economic data, track domestic and global policy and macroeconomic developments, and conduct research into a wide range of topics. Current areas of interest to Keybridge clients include geopolitical developments, fiscal and monetary policy, credit market issues, energy/environmental economics, regional economics, regulatory issues, and international trade issues. Successful candidates in the past have demonstrated an ability to work simultaneously and independently across multiple subject-matter areas, quickly learning new topics and methods as needed.

 

You will work on a range of projects assisting the macro team, both with shorter-term client requests and longer-term research and analysis projects. This experience will give you a front-row seat to understanding how Keybridge helps its clients anticipate, react, and take advantage of economic and policy trends that impact their business, industry, and operating environment.

 

It is currently expected that the Research Assistant will begin work remotely, though we plan to transition to on-site work in Washington, DC as conditions evolve.

 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Your responsibilities are likely to include the following tasks:

  • Assist the macro team with daily tasks, including staying up to date on the latest macroeconomic indicators and public policy developments.
  • Perform quantitative analysis to identify emerging economic and financial trends, estimate policy impact, and/or evaluate programmatic performance.
  • Draft analytical notes, memos, data products, economic outlooks, and other reports on current economic and public policy issues.
  • Conduct background research and draft literature reviews for analytical studies.
  • Collect and organize data for surveys and case studies.
  • Prepare client-ready charts, data tables, and presentations.

 

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

 

The ideal candidate will possess the following attributes:

  • Undergraduate degree in economics, public policy, business, data analytics, or related field with 0-3 years of work experience in research, public policy analysis, or consulting
  • Passion for economics, public policy, and the application of analytical tools to policy challenges
  • Experience conducting both quantitative and qualitative data analysis
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Naturally curious personality with a drive to understand complex issues
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to operate collaboratively within a team environment while also moving work forward independently as needed
  • Ability to multi-task and adapt to changes in team and client needs
  • Collegial attitude, positive outlook, and a friendly disposition
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience with economic data sources (e.g., FRED, Haver Analytics, DBnomics, Macrobond), statistical software (e.g., R, Stata, SPSS), and Tableau are a plus

Summer 2021 Research Assistant, Macroeconomics Practice
Contractor

We’re seeking a highly motivated individual with deep intellectual curiosity and a passion for macroeconomics and public policy to join our team. This is an entry-level role at a growing firm where you will be a key contributor to the Macroeconomic Practice.

 

As a summer intern, you will be responsible for collaborating with staff at all levels, including senior leadership, to process and analyze data, track domestic and global policy and macroeconomic developments, and conduct research into topics of interest to Keybridge’s clients. We’ve found that successful candidates are able to work simultaneously and independently across multiple subject-matter areas, quickly learning new topics or methods as needed.

 

You will work on a range of projects, both assisting the macro team with day-to-day client-related tasks and pursuing an independent research project that you will help to scope and execute. This experience will give you a front-row seat to understanding how Keybridge helps its clients anticipate, react, and take advantage of economic and policy trends that impact their business, industry, and operating environment.

 

It is currently expected that the Summer Research Assistant will work remotely, though there may be an opportunity for on-site work in Washington, DC as conditions evolve.

 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Assisting the macro team with daily tasks, including staying up to date on the latest macroeconomic indicators and public policy developments.
  • Collecting, organizing, and analyzing publicly available data pertaining to ~200 large U.S.-based companies.
  • Assisting the macro team with research, data analysis, and/or report drafting to support weekly, monthly, and quarterly client deliverables, including data products and dashboards, economic outlooks, and/or client presentations delivered by firm leadership.
  • Conducting quantitative and qualitative research to generate insights on a macroeconomic research topic of mutual interest to you and Keybridge’s macro team leadership. This research will culminate in a memo, article, client note, or other written product, with the intention of being delivered to one or more Keybridge clients.

 

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

 

The ideal candidate will possess the following attributes:

  • Pursuing or completed a degree in economics, public policy, business, data analytics, or related field
  • Passion for economics, public policy, and the application of analytical tools to policy challenges
